He wants to sell as he has just bought a seven-bedroom villa for just over £2million (£1.8m), which has more land and £150,000 worth of Versace tiles in the bathrooms.
“It was built by an architect but after six months his wife announced that she wanted to move to the South of France,” he explains.
“I can see the potential in a run-down property providing it is in the right location,” he says.
I also put in a games room and bought a pin-ball machine.” Within 18 months he had spent a further £250,000 but made sure the new features were in keeping with stone walls and beams.
The property is now worth £850,000, without the cars.
Darren has created his own property empire by buying off-plan villas and apartments overseas and run-down homes in the UK.
So why has he started a new business in the current climate? “I already had the idea for a property website before I sold Dating Direct because I was so frustrated having to consult so many different websites to find information about buying an overseas property.” He has now created a one-stop shop,
